Wanna be a Cyclist?

What will I need to get to Galway?
Equipment
- Road bike (in good condition – incl brakes, tyres/tubes, gears)
- Check out buy/sell your bike
- Contact Training@galwaycycle.ie if in doubt or for advice
- Helmet (no helmet, no cycle)
- Water bottle & cage
Training cycle info:
- Saturday & Sunday mornings, 10am at the south NUIM campus gates (check out our training plan)
- Short distances in early January building up to 110km in March
- Attendance is taken at each training cycle
- For each training cycle, bring an isotonic drink, bananas, chocolate and some shopping money (€3)
- For insurance purposes through Cycling Ireland, cyclists are asked to bring €10 to their first cycle
Cyclists need to raise:
- Student Cyclist - €250
- NUIM Graduate Cyclist - €370
- Cyclist - €420

Do I need to do much cycling training?
- Yes... if you want to make it to Galway!
- But. There are always support van ready to pick you up when you need a rest.
- Compulsory attendance at the 3 mandatory training sessions, as well as fitness, it is important for our safety that everyone is familiar with cycling in a group.

We cycle... Maynooth -> Kinnegad -> Moate -> Ballinasloe -> Lough Rea -> G-G-G-Galway!!
